When we can look past the hard shell; the seeming assured harshness or arrogance of someone, we might begin to connect with understanding the reason why they have formed it or feel they need it. Don’t always be convinced by the persona people show to the world, there is almost always deeper stuff going on.
In the end we realise everything meaningful in our life is all about connection. Connection with Self. Connection with others. Connection with life. Connection with purpose. Connection with love. Connection with awareness. Connection with trust. Connection with commitment. Connection through communication. Connection with truth.
Every connection we experience, we experience through/within our Self. We can’t experience if our sense of I Am is not present first.
How much do our choices bring more connection and how much do they generate a kind of disconnection? This is important to look at and take responsibility for within our relationship with life and our interpretations.
How much we pay attention inwardly to the parts of us that want to react, grasp, avoid or push back, makes all the difference to our relationships and how much we can lead a beautiful life.
The energy of commitment is fundamental within fulfilling our intentions, understanding ourselves and being able to contribute to humanity.
We can raise our level of commitment in various ways: -practice being in our five senses and our somatic (body sensation) awareness -practice conscious breathing. -eat, sleep, rest, exercise; respect our physical body as the house of our spirit. -make a schedule/timetable. -raise our level of self awareness. -practice to STOP and observe and reflect inwardly when we are triggered. -practice mindfulness meditation. -do creative things. -become clear on what fears and belief systems we are learning to release inside us and how we might be able to give back to life.
Be a bridge, but don’t walk it for someone. And make sure they carry their own weight. This way, they start to build their own muscle. Whether we enjoy it or not, in the end it’s a requirement for all of us in becoming empowered.
Build strength, clarity, self worth, self confidence. Shine. Inspire people. Just by being true to who you are, challenge people to step up to your energy level.
Often in trying to help people we can find ourselves kind of being pulled down; joining them in their misery. Like there is some belief that if I suffer too, then somehow that makes me a good person.
If we really want to be of service, we need to give ourselves permission to really protect and nurture our fullest wellbeing.
No one genuinely reaches out for help from someone, unless they sense that there is something in them that is more stable, that is ok and has a strength and clarity of well-being.
Compassion and presence alongside suffering yes, acknowledging yes, but jumping in there too.. that just then makes two suffering people needing help.
I call us home into our heart, into peace, presence, joy.. into our Self. You in who you really really really really really are.. you are never not here and we are one.
