Anxiety and depression are as much a part of being a spiritual person as joy and light are.

You don’t ever need to measure yourself as not doing well enough spiritually or otherwise just because your feeling down, scared or hopeless.

Our darker periods in life are a fuel for our inner quest for the light of consciousness. They are an integral and important part of our spiritual journey. They are as much a part of the divine design as the exquisite beauty of a flower is.

Spirituality is not about escaping being human, it’s about learning to BE fully human, with all our heart open to ourselves, with whatever feelings that brings. Including our hardest ones.

You are loveable no matter how bad you’re feeling.

Your soul is beautiful always.

When you listen to the words, you hear the story. When you listen to the unspoken, you hear the heart. When you listen to the silence, you hear the soul.

There are different levels within us.

When we want to heal, we really need to listen to what’s going on inside us. We need to gain clear seeing and learn to differentiate between our mind’s egoic narrative and our deeper heart, our intuition, our innate knowing presence.

Meditation in essence, is the art of listening. Learning to listen deeply within ourselves and our experience.
The more we listen and pay attention in different ways, the more we hear.

Instead of becoming increasing entranced by the external content that divides us, we as humanity need to seek and focus on that which is the inner core of our unity.

For humanity to survive, we need to come together, we need to work together, we need to stop fighting each other and start fighting to save our planet.

What we focus on and what we give our belief to, is a big part in creating our experience.
Do you want to feel separate and divided, or do you want to recognise connection and togetherness?

Are we different on the level of our Soul?

What you deny imprisons you.

We can’t be free when we are in opposition to anything within ourselves or our past.

The more we keep something hidden or secret, the more it builds the walls of an inner kind of prison.

With the light and power of consciousness and compassion there is no inner experience too dangerous to face.

Be gentle with yourself.

Being a human being can be very very challenging at times.

Be gentle with yourself. You’re allowed to feel all range of feelings in response to life.

If there is a pattern of having a victim mentality or a righteous mentality, then yes that is something to become conscious of and to learn to change, as we can generate a lot of our own suffering this way.

And still, no matter what, we all are worthy of compassion.

The way to divinity is through bringing loving kindness to our humanity.

In the search for healing and inner peace we often want to discard our ‘rough stuff’ and yet it in the end we come to see that it is through our very human wounding and heartbreaks that we come to learn to open within love.

With patience and consistent intention, we can come to the place of encircling even our most hidden, seemingly unworthy parts, with loving kindness, warmth and inclusion.

It is our very human-ness that gives us the path to divinity. Not by getting rid of it, but by opening our hearts to it.
