Move toward yourself.

When we’re in pain, we are the one we need the most.

When there is joy, we are the vessel to connect with.

We need to be on board with feeling, expressing and caring for our own heart.

We need to be the one that is there for us no matter what. As we are the one that is always present. And our own kindness and non-judgment is the most healing of all.

Yes we need support from others too. And reaching out and sharing with someone we feel safe with is so important.

But in order to even do this, we need to be there with ourselves on it first.

Move towards yourself. And become aware of the ways you use to move away from yourself.

Sit with your feelings, in your body.

Sometimes we are scared to let ourselves really feel.
We might fear that we’ll be overwhelmed by our emotions or drown in them.

Sometimes we have spent a lifetime surviving, which has meant feelings have had to be shut off and the healing is the path of patiently opening.

Learn to safely connect with your emotions by following your breath and being with feelings as sensations in the body.

It is often that we need guidance and support to help do this. Somatic therapies are best for this.

We can use our grounded embodied connection to hold ourselves safely, no matter what emotional storm we are weather in.

And we can know that all feelings have a life span and will pass.
