There are many words that try to capture a way of saying who we in essence are: consciousness, awareness, love, loving awareness, being, light, spirit, soul, buddha nature, source energy, heart, wairua, inner self, eternal subject, knowingness, and many many more of many different languages.
Even when our physical bodies pass away, the truth and light of our being, our wairua remains.
On the 10th of March I will be hosting a conversation titled: ‘A Conversation on Spirituality’ for the La Fiesta Festival here in Whanganui @lafiestanz
In an open minded way we will be exploring the question: What is Spirituality?
On pondering the question myself this week, this is the answer that came to me: ‘Spirituality is consciousness playing with consciousness, being drawn to come home to the knowing of itself.’
What might your words for what spirituality is be?
It will be an exciting time to share and discover ourselves together within the context of this evening of conversation.
When someone doesn’t do something that is also a course of action. Consciously or unconsciously.
We often focus on the things we can see and point to, as easy targets on which to place blame. Where as the absence of something isn’t always so easy to hold up to scrutiny.
Neglect/isolation is also a form of abuse.
Conscious non-action can sometimes be the wisest path.
The things we don’t do and don’t say are as much saying something about us as the things we do.
Thoughts are things. They have no power in and of themselves unless we give them power by believing them.
We cannot control all the thoughts that come into our mind, but we can choose not to engage with them. And we can actively replace them with more supportive and helpful thoughts.
Don’t believe what you think without checking it out first!!.. Is it really true?
Sometimes in a moment of not thinking we can realise we are so utterly at home within the sweetness of our inner being.
Silence is not just about the absence of external noise, more importantly it is the lessening of the noise of our mind and emotions.
Within inner silence we open to the vastness of awareness and connectedness.
There is only one silence. Inner or outer they are one. And yet with the recognition of it, it is as if they then merge and blend, and the seperate silence of ‘me’ dissolves like honey in lemon. And who I am swirls in the ether all around. Infused in and as life itself.
No matter how much money you acquire in life, if you have a fear of lack and you haven’t recognised and released your thought wprocess, you will not be free to enjoy true abundance.
Abundance is lived through presence; experiencing the moment fully and being filled with gratitude.
Abundance comes through being happy in our Self and recognising the truth of our connectedness with life and love.
If kindness does not include respect to one’s own boundaries, then it is not true kindness.
True kindness is kind because it honours the needs and truth of all parties.
We can get caught in feeling obliged, afraid of hurting someone, wanting to keep others happy, or that it is ‘easier’ just to give another what they want.
This is often stemming from an unconscious fear of the relationship changing or of being rejected/abandoned.
When we are not being true and say yes when inside something in us knows it’s a no, all that does is enable that kind of relationship dynamic to continue and for authenticity and trust to be stunted. The connection will not flourish.
Everyone has their line, their honest yes and no, the simplicity of the way it naturally is.
Don’t try and muck with this simplicity, just follow. It will lead the way to healthy relationships. This is kindness in action.
Of course there are times a part of us doesn’t want to do something, and yet if it is important a higher us does know it’s what we want as it is our responsibility. Sometimes discerning our inner resistance is important. So we can follow our true yes.
