I am the stillness that sits inside. The presence of a hundred nights. The trust of a flower reaching for the light.

Things come and go. What is it that stays constant inside? This is the most important discovery to ‘find’. Everything else is a chasing after of the changing.

We overlook our own awareness presence, take it for granted as a ‘yeah and..?’.

However without awareness we cannot experience anything at all. Usually we focus on the content of our experience. Awareness is the context of all experience.

We have many ideas of what it means to ‘be in our heart’, when really in simplicity one way of understanding what this actually means is that we have our thought process suspended/rested enough for the simplicity of our already always present awareness/being to come to the fore. The heart does not have to be anything about emotions. Emotions can be there or not. Our heart is more like the clear space of allowing that is our being, in which all content can arise.

I am the stillness that sits inside.
The presence of a hundred nights.
The trust of a flower reaching for the light. – Your Heart of Awareness.

How can something be a mistake or a failure if without it you would not have become aware of a better way?

We can’t always see the way life is unfolding in order to help us grow.

We need our mistakes as much as we need successes. In fact ‘mistakes’ are often a much more potent compost for the maturity of our being.
They also help us forge our determination and certitude.

Be kind to yourself. Let’s face it, ultimately none of us really know why anything happens in the big picture.

With deep self knowing you won’t topple in the storms of life.

Self growth work and building self awareness is a contribution to all humanity.

When the storms come, we are so grateful for someone who is able to remain more present and calm, silently reassuring and available.

This is the gift we can then give when we have cultivated our ability to be this way with our own inner storms and the emotional parts of our self.

It can be a long road, but there is nothing more worthwhile than inner peace.

Loneliness can be a cry from the inner child to the adult present self.

A calling from the inner self to come back from externally focused seeking. A communication of the need to go within.

Behaviours driven by loneliness can often bring us back to even more of a sense of loneliness.

However loneliness does not need to be seen as a weakness, a punishment, a trap or an abandonment.

Actually it can be received as another way that the divine is calling us into self care, self love and self discovery. Another way to keep bringing us home to our self, as nothing else is permanent or enough.

Knowing something logically and moving through something emotionally are two very different things.

‘Rush!’ says the mind.. ‘Figure this out before it gets you down! We have to have this wrapped up and under control! Just sort it, fix it, twist it, contend it, get rid of it, anything to get it sorted. No matter who’s in the way!’

‘But there is my hurt and sad and the need to be helped and heard’, says emotional heart. What do I do with that? She asks the mind.

‘Get over it, drink it, drug it, plug it, collapse it. Never mind it. Transcend it. It doesn’t matter. You just have to not exist. I have got this.’ Is the reply.

‘But how am I to heal and open and feel love when even you don’t want me?’ cries emotional heart.

Heart: ‘What you don’t realise dear mind, is that I hold the key to the freedom you seek. I am a doorway to peace. I am a opening of grace, when you can connect deeply within me and allow me to move you. I am the one who sits and waits and will never leave until you see you are whole. I am here as your guide and guardian. I am the one whom will not let you stray too far, as my suffering pulls you back to the path. If you neglect me, you will inevitably find me and, when you learn how to finally allow yourself to be safely present with me, I will wash you clean with my ocean of tears. And we find ourself together on the shore of self love.

We have a responsibility to be as conscious and as loving with each other and with all living beings, as we can.

Doing our own personal healing work to let go of our shortsightedness, our selfishness and our fear is essential for the wellbeing and for the very survival of the planet.

When we can look within, and learn to open with compassion, we can feel more the love and connection and joy with all of life.

May we all be supported to heal ourselves, heal humanity and heal the planet.

I can trust that what I am receiving is the best thing for my soul making right now.

Sometimes we have such dark nights where the clouds shroud the moon’s guiding light.

We have only enough light to see where our one step lands.

We might call out to the sky to give us light, and yet we have a while to walk still, not knowing when the dawn will come.

Sometimes this feels to be the most unending time, the most barren and seemingly unkind.

Yet we realise with the dawn, as it will always arise,
that we needed that darkness to grow our strength inside.
To grow our love inside.
To grow our care for our self and our step.

We realise that without the darkness we would have missed the glow worms, the owl’s call and the magic of the night.

We can see with the blessing of hindsight that every moment of life has been designed to bring out our brightest light from inside.

We can say thank you and I am grateful, that even though I cannot see, I can trust that what I am receiving is the best thing for my soul making right now.

The key to walking in life with inner peace and happiness is: to learn to listen.

What does it mean to learn to listen?

There are many ways and levels in which we can learn to listen.

There is the most obvious, the physical listening; listening through our five senses. Listening to the sounds of our environment, listening to the feel of touch, the aliveness of smell, the beauty of sight, the array of tastes.

There is listening to our body or what we call interoception. Where we listen to our sensations, our breathing, our inner body, our level of energy.

There is listening on the emotional level, both inwardly to how we are truthfully feeling and outwardly with a kind of attuning to others emotions empathically.

There is listening to mind activity and the mental noise of thoughts, perspectives and opinions. Both our own and others.

There is listening to our intuition and felt sense of knowing; our gut feeling.

There is listening to the subtle realms within creativity like in a painting, music or dance.

There is listening to the act of listening itself. Which connects us with the awareness dimension of experiencing our self and our own presence.

Then there is listening through our awareness and presence to the vast depth of silence and the mystery of life itself.

Meditation in its various forms is the most powerful practice we can do to strengthen our ability to listen on all levels.

And to hold an intention to be open to the unknown.
