Do you have a tendency to take too much responsibility for other people’s process and what they might project onto you? or do you have a tendency to dismiss/deflect/defend too quickly with what other people need you to hear?
Relationships are important. Be kind and find the balance point.
Sometimes we have a fear that if people really knew what we were like, they would see we aren’t loveable.
The opposite is true. At our core is always worth and deservingness and goodness.
Yes we often have behaviours or thoughts that aren’t attractive or wanted, however these are not who we are are the core. They are things we go through and cope with.
Know your true heart, your essential being. You are deeply loveable and worthy of understanding and compassion.
Learn to discern what is not you, what patterns protect and pretend. Peel away the untruth into the love of honesty.
It’s so common to experience the same learning coming up again and again within us. Like we have to keep covering the same old ground that we thought we had dealt with.
And this is true, we are working with the same old ingredients that our conditioning formed. However what is not always obvious, is that when we are truly doing our inner work, when we are awakening and growing and gaining awareness, the work each time it re surfaces, is at deeper and deeper levels.
We are not back at the beginning. We are expanding and advancing and strengthening our clarity.
Yes we need to find balance and health within our emotional expression in looking after ourselves and others. However so often this comes with the notion of not being too emotional, or feeling like there is something wrong with our emotions.
What we resist persists. So when we can find allowing curiosity, compassion and acceptance with how we feel, this changes the landscape of our experience.
How much do we think we know someone and where they are at, and how much do we go on ideas or judgements that we’ve formed that aren’t necessarily grounded in connection and communication?
Boundaries are important when we can see unhealthy relational patterns and yet let’s be aware not to disconnect and isolate ourselves through our own thinking and assumptions.
Even personal growth and spirituality can be unconsciously used as a bypass for being deeply available, vulnerable and close in our relationships.
Also a strong attachment to our beliefs and ideas can create division. We can often be so focused on what we think is right or the truth, we forget to be kind.
Relationships are where the rubber meets the road for the things we might learn, expand or improve in our growth. They are where it all gets truely put to the test.
Of course it’s important to dedicate time to ourselves, to our self care, spiritual practices and taking space, and yet it is important to recognise the right balance of this and the relational health it creates with our loved ones.
Our connectedness is important to everyone and such a gift.
