Life is spirituality

There is no separation between life and spirituality. Life IS spirituality.

Separation only comes because we think of ourselves as seperate.

However we are born from the life force of nature, we express through nature, we live because of nature and we breathe the air provided by nature, by life itself.

We are spirit in the physical body of life itself.

Everything is interconnected. Everything is growing, moving, expanding, changing all the time. This is life. Even on a scientific level, cells are constantly vibrating and moving as they are alive.

Life is spirituality. You don’t need to do anything to be a spiritual person, other than realise and live your true nature.

Be aware of what you put in your body.

The food you eat generates your cells. In that directly literal sense, you are what you eat.

We all need to be as supported as possible by our body to help us feel good in our emotions and our thoughts.

Our body, feelings and mind are intrinsically linked and impact each other more than we often realise.

We all need to be as healthy as we can to, not just survive, but thrive in this changing, unpredictable world.

Look after yourself and those you love.

Read the ingredients list on things you buy. If there are too many numbers and preservatives and goodness knows what in it, don’t buy it. It’s NOT actually food.

Each moment offers joy. Listen for the invitation. Come into yourself as presence. Living and breathing joy. Following what feels right in each moment.

Life, aliveness is now. Nowhere else.

Listen and respond to this moment. Follow what flows naturally.

Yes have practical things planned that need to be planned, and yet live this moment. It is all you have.

A friend of mine today was pained at the thought of having to go back to work next week. And yet its Wednesday, he’s still on holiday and it’s a stunning sun shining day. I said.. don’t get too far ahead of yourself, you won’t be able to enjoy your time off.

Not a new idea. We all know this one, and yet to come to a point of really be able to live this way, this is a great learning.

Yoga is not ‘stretching’, it is an entire spiritual philosophy and path, of which looking after the body is simply one part.

Each of us needs to follow guidance that resonates with our heart and speaks to our truth.

There is no one religion or path that is superior or right for everyone.

I myself have benefited from a multitude of spiritual teachers and teachings. Receiving insights in different ways through each.

I found it has also been very helpful and important for me to go deeply into a framework of teachings, so as to go to that depth in myself with applying it and gaining understanding experientially rather than just theoretically.

No point in being ‘all spiritual’ if you’re not actively practicing and applying the teachings in your life.

There are 101 thousand paths up the same mountain.

We cannot know how it is for someone else. They have their own journey. Our journey is our journey and theirs is theirs.

We are all on our path, up the same mountain. This mountain appears different from different positions, and it is not until we reach the top, that we fully see all paths come together to the same point.

Spirituality has many paths, whether we have a religious path, an atheist path a yoga path or no seeming path at all, we are all still walking on this same mountain, this journey of life and self discovery. Whether conscious of it or not.

Important growth cannot be rushed, avoided or pushed. If it is, it will not be complete, and at some point it will present again in another way or form.

Life is here to help us grow into our full Self. This can be glorious and fun and also at times challenge us to our very core and seem to tear us apart.

The main platform for growth is through relationship. We need them to be more strongly faced with our fears, our attachments and our unprocessed hurt.

If we haven’t done our part of the learning in a relationship, it will be there in us for another one.

Different relationships bring out different issues, and so in some way perhaps the cards will be different with a different person, but on a certain level, our core fears, issues and patterns remain the same if we haven’t taken responsibility for them.

Don’t be so quick to think the grass will be greener with another person.

Relational intelligence is of upmost importance in life.

Our relationships are so important. We need to be able to share ourselves and support each other.

Spiritual practice is important, and at the same time, if we are great at meditation but terrible at considering other people, then something in us isn’t integrated.

If we are really good at changing the light bulb, but not able to change our perspective and really put ourselves in another’s shoes, then at some point we will hit up against our own rigidness as it comes back at us.

I really like what Ram Dass said: “If you think you are enlightened, go and spend a week with your parents.”

The proof is in the pudding.

Do you really truely look at the patterns you have in relationships? Do you enquire into yourself, your reactions, your motivations, fears, inspirations? Have you unpacked what hurts you have and protective mechanisms you developed through growing up? We ALL have them, no matter how idyllic our childhood was.

It’s not about navel gazing, it’s about awareness. We don’t need to dwell on the past, but we need to be able to identify how and where the past is unconsciously continuing to play out in our relationships now.

With this awareness we can start to update ourself and open to create more conscious choices. We can be more connected and honest in relationship. We can be less controlling and stubborn, better at listening and more patient and compassionate.

A much nicer feeling all round.
